NBS is currently looking for designers with 5-10 years of project and furniture experience in the corporate, healthcare and/or higher education industries. An understanding of the design process and documentation is a must. Technical/software knowledge is required — candidate should be proficient in CAD/CAP and CET; SketchUp, PowerPoint, Word and Excel. Systems furniture/dealership experience is a definite plus. We are interested in finding the right, long-term team member who is self-directed, resourceful, engaging and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines while making it look easy!

Sales Account Associate – Healthcare & Education

We have an opening in our Troy location for a sales professional to add to our well established Healthcare and Education team of professionals. This is an exciting opportunity to start a career in sales or take your sales career to another level. The ideal candidate must be highly organized, efficient, energetic, and have a sincere interest in learning the intricacies of healthcare and education workplaces.

Reports to:

Vice President of Sales-Healthcare & Education

Job Duties:

  • Work with the Healthcare & Education Sales team to service and respond to clients
    • Work with team to develop initiatives/processes to exceed client expectations
    • Product pricing / quotes for clients
  • Perform product demonstrations
  • Attend critical client installations as needed
  • Implement and develop client product/ service programs as identified by the team
  • Research and create product comparisons for clients
  • Create client standards manuals as required
  • Assist team with development and compilation of client bids and RFP’s
  • Coordinate and/or attend job progress meetings
  • Implement client “Thank You” events
  • Contribute and assist with close out packages for large projects
  • Vendor liaison for the team
  • Continuously sharpen sales skills and knowledge relative to products and services available within the industry
  • Attend industry trade shows, product training and conferences as needed
  • Attend client meetings with Senior Sales as required

Job Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s degree preferred (design degree a plus)
  • Experience in a related industry preferred (healthcare or sales to education facilities related experience a plus)

  • Proven organizational and problem solving skills

  • Must be comfortable in front of clients and in a selling situation

NBS Construction Accounting Coordinator

Construction Accounting Services Coordinator

Work in conjunction with Construction Sales and other NBS Construction disciplines to meet client expectations as it relates to the products and services we provide.  Interact daily with internal and external clients on order status and required follow up issues.  Serve as intermediary between NBS disciplines, clients and vendors.  Work in conjunction with NBS CEC’s on AIA billing and related documents to ensure prompt payment.

Reports to the VP of Construction Solutions

Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Work with Project Directors to create contracts for customers and suppliers; review customer provided contracts, track requirements, and complete required documentation
  • Process client orders including entering orders in Hedberg business system, working with vendors to secure product and services, and issuing purchase orders. Manage all related documentation
  • Communicate with clients including providing status updates on orders, promptly handling inquiries, and collecting receivables
  • Coordinate and/or attend internal and external job meetings to ensure progress and communication is understood by all
  • Prepare invoices including AIA documents, sworn statements, and waivers. Maintain work-in-progress project details; determine profitability of projects on all such Floorcovering/Furniture/Construction orders and projects
  • Follow Order and Integrated Fulfillment Process for all orders and projects to help ensure client satisfaction

Specific Job Duties

  • Reconcile and maintain Construction reports and Hedberg order reports including Projected Billings, Cost Verified Not Invoiced and PO Printed Not Acknowledged
  • Be pro-active in the NBS Continuous Improvement effort
  • Maintain a positive, helpful, team attitude and encourage others to do the same
  • Assist in other office management related and general location activities including answering general office phone, processing mail, and maintaining office supplies

Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
  • A minimum of 2 years previous Construction Industry experience required including construction accounting, revenue recognition, job costing and AIA billing process
  • Knowledge of Procore software helpful
  • Strong math aptitude
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills combined with the ability to work independently
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Self-Starter
