We do this by skillfully integrating architectural products, floorcovering, furniture, technology and commercial cleaning into corporate, healthcare and education environments. From concept to completion, we plan, design and execute every aspect of the interior space to deliver a more inspiring and engaging place that supports the business and people within it. Our experienced and passionate team provides the knowledge, products and services needed to transform real estate into a more cohesive and inspiring destination that empowers people to perform, feel and be their best. 1976 NBS becomes an Authorized Steelcase dealer, expands business focus to include contract furnishings. 1976 2000 NBS acquires Plymouth, Michigan-based Steelcase dealer, expands metro Detroit coverage. 2000 2001 NBS acquires Toledo, Ohio Steelcase dealer, expands northern Ohio coverage. Also adds floorcovering division and expands product and service offerings. 2001 2006 NBS acquires Bingham Farms, Michigan Steelcase dealer, serving southeast Michigan. 2006 2009 NBS acquires Bay City-based Steelcase dealer, now with locations in Lansing and Bay City, Michigan. NBS also becomes leading Steelcase dealer in northern Ohio through mid-Michigan. Cleaning services added with acquisition of commercial cleaning specialists to help protect client investment in furnishings and floorcoverings. 2009 2010 NBS acquires audiovisual service provider, now offering the seamless integration of technology solutions. 2010 2014 Comes together with Clawson, Michigan-based interior construction and design-build organization to better support our integrated approach. 2014 2022 NBS becomes a premier partner for Renson in Michigan, expanding our offerings to include outdoor structures. 2022 2024 Ownership transitions to four minority shareholders, becoming majority Women Owned and certified Women’s Business Enterprise (WBE). 2024 2026 Celebrates 50 years of partnership with Steelcase in a yearlong campaign. 2026 ## How We Got Here In 1948, National Business Supply Inc. (NBS) started as an office supply and business machines dealer, based in Mt. Clemens, Michigan. We became an authorized Steelcase dealer in 1976, and the founding family transitioned ownership in 1997. At that time, we exited the office supplies and machines industry to grow the interiors business. Showing Slide 1 of 7 Along the way, we acquired specialty services and other Steelcase dealers to expand our reach and offerings to become the interior integrator we are today. We are now 95% Women Owned and certified as a Women’s Business Enterprise (WBE). ## Our Ownership Team Our ownership team is made up of four long-standing NBS leaders with a depth of knowledge and experience of the NBS business.
