NBS Rudolph to the Rescue 2024

Making Spirits Bright:
NBS Rudolph to the Rescue 2024

The holiday season is upon us, bringing cherished traditions, quality time with loved ones, and the spirit of giving. At NBS, one of our favorite traditions is Rudolph to the Rescue, where we spread holiday cheer by providing financial support to local families and organizations in need.

NBS dedicates $10,000 to support this annual initiative, giving $4,000 to our largest team in Southeast Michigan and $2,000 to each of our branch locations. This allows each team to choose the causes they are most passionate about in their communities. While NBS gives back throughout the entire year, Rudolph to the Rescue is a special time to get our team’s input on which organizations to support, making the season a bit more joyful for many.

Here’s how we used our Rudolph funds this year…

Southeast Michigan Team

NBS Southeast Michigan - Rudolph to the Rescue 2024

Our Southeast Michigan (SEM) team supported several impactful organizations for Rudolph to the Rescue this year. We kicked off by collecting supplies and donating to Crossroads of Michigan, a Detroit-based nonprofit providing necessities, essential social services, and long-term stability programs to those in need. While team members contributed clothing and personal hygiene items, NBS made a $1,000 monetary donation to further their mission.

Next, SEM supported Friends of Foster Kids with a $500 donation, helping provide items like coats, clothing, and shoes, as well as holiday gifts for foster children in the community. Our team also volunteered in person to wrap presents at their Shelby Township facility, bringing joy and smiles to those who need it most this season. Additionally, $1,000 was donated to the Ruth Ellis Center, which offers trauma-informed services, programs, and safe spaces for homeless and at-risk LGBTQ+ youth and young adults.

SEM donated another $1,000 to Samaritan’s Purse for U.S. hurricane relief, supporting them in their efforts to clean up, rebuild, and deliver critical supplies to areas in need. Lastly, we supported MCHS Family of Services, an organization that provides individualized treatment, care, advocacy, and permanency to children and families impacted by childhood trauma. We adopted holiday wish lists for two teen boys, purchasing $250 worth of gifts, including warm clothing, games, and sports equipment.

Great Lakes
Bay Region Team

Our Great Lakes Bay Region team proudly donated all $2,000 of their Rudolph to the Rescue funds to Bay Area Women’s Center. This organization provides free crisis intervention and advocacy to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault, as well as violence prevention education to the community. We are honored to have been able to support this important cause and their inspiring mission.

Lansing Team

Our Lansing team donated all $2,000 of their funds to Capital Area Housing Partnership (CAHP). This organization is dedicated to developing strong and diverse neighborhoods, emphasizing affordable housing, homeownership opportunities, and financial security for neighbors in our community. We specifically supported their new initiative, Home for Good at Walter French, which aids 19 households transitioning from homelessness to permanent homes at The Residences at Walter French.

Thanks to monetary donations like ours, CAHP can provide essential furnishings and services that transform these apartments into true homes, fostering stability and independence.

NBS Toledo - Rudolph to the Rescue 2024

Toledo Team

Our Toledo team chose to support Nationwide Children’s Hospital by donating $1,750 worth of toys and sensory items to their Autism Center in Toledo. This center provides comprehensive care, focusing on evidence-based treatment, education, research, and advocacy for children diagnosed with an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). We are truly grateful to have the opportunity to provide toys that will bring joy and comfort to children while they are at the center.

We also donated $250 to the Toledo Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 40 for their “Shop with a Cop” program for the 4th year in a row, providing underprivileged children in the area with gifts and allowing them to form a special bond with local law enforcement officers.

“It’s so heartwarming during the holidays to see our team members coming together to give back to our local communities,” stated Jennifer Ramon, Human Resource Generalist at NBS. “An additional benefit of our Rudolph to the Rescue tradition is that over the years, it has brought more awareness to so many worthwhile causes and organizations.”

Rudolph to the Rescue always brings us together, fills us with holiday cheer, and reminds us of the true spirit of the season. Making a difference in our communities is one of our NBS Core Values, and we’re proud to be able to do this in several ways all year long, but especially during the holidays.

From all of us at NBS, we wish you a joyful holiday season and hope you’re inspired to join us in giving back to those in need!
