Who Are We Looking For?

NBS is currently looking for a Field Sales Specialist. We are seeking a motivated and dynamic sales representative to join our Steelcase dealership team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for innovative workplace solutions, a strong ability to build and nurture client relationships, and a consultative approach to addressing client needs.

What Will You Be Doing?

This role will primarily focus on the Ann Arbor territory, with an emphasis on developing business within the University of Michigan and Michigan Medicine. In addition, this role will maintain an overall flow of sales consistent with assigned gross profit objectives. Some of the primary job duties of this position include:

  • Upholding the NBS Purpose and Core Values while servicing our clients.
  • Developing and executing, in collaboration with the VP of Sales, a strategic sales plan for the Ann Arbor region, with a primary focus on University of Michigan and Michigan Medicine.
  • Building relationships with key decision-makers in higher education, healthcare, and corporate sectors, identifying opportunities for Steelcase products and solutions.

NBS is currently looking for a full-time Carpet Cleaning Technician in our Troy office.

Reports to: Director, Commercial Cleaning Solutions

The safety of our team members is our #1 priority.  Therefore, we have implemented numerous safety protocols related to the COVID-19 pandemic; as recommended by national and local government, and health authorities.  These protocols include:

  • Field staff are equipped with face masks, gloves, hand sanitizer and wipes.
  • NBS vehicles are equipped with the necessary disinfecting supplies.
  • Our vehicles are decontaminated/fogged on a regular basis.
  • Team members are strongly encouraged to follow the CDC guidelines for preventing the spread of the virus.

Job Duties:

  • Primarily include carpet, fabric, upholstery, and floor cleaning along with various other services provided by NBS.
  • Work hours are typically Monday-Friday between 4:00 pm to 1:00 am.
  • Must be available to work at least two Saturdays a month.

What Will You Be Doing?

  • Loading furniture orders onto truck and delivering product to customers; completing furniture assembly/ installation as per installation specifications to meet customer expectation; inspecting furniture for proper operability according to manufacturer’s guidelines.
  • Installing all types of freestanding furniture and panel and modular systems; including placement, leveling, wipe-down, and touching-up of metal and wood furniture at customer location.
  • Completing all required furniture service/repair paperwork.

What Will You Be Doing?

This role is responsible for the creation of design solutions from inception to post-installation; including the five general areas of project work: Client Programming, Schematic Design, Design Development, Specification Development, and Installation Documentation/Project Administration.

This role requires a selling mindset, strong organizational and communication skills, and the ability to thrive under pressure, all while creating and delivering impactful interior solutions. Exceptional presentation skills are imperative. Some of the primary job duties of this position include:

  • Maintaining the efficiency and organization of design projects, adhering to the proposed scope of work and hours expressed by the client proposal, and generating a change of scope authorization when necessary.
  • Working with the A&D community, NBS team members and vendor partners to provide exceptional design solutions through an integrated approach, combining Architecture, Furniture and Technology
  • Generating accurate working documents (space plans, specifications, and installation documents) via the appropriate software; Sketch-up, CET Designer-Smart Tools, AutoCAD / CAP for interface with our business system.
  • Developing solutions that meet code/ADA requirements relative to interior space planning.
  • Maintaining and submitting timely and accurate time tracking, weekly schedules, and other required departmental documentation.
  • Submitting installation drawings and attending pre-installation meetings with the project team as applicable; obtain client sign-off on all approved drawings and finish selections.

What Will You Be Doing?

This position has the overall responsibility of providing our clients with on-site service and support through preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs. Some of the primary job duties of this position include:

  • Providing service and support of AV systems, web conferencing equipment, digital signage, sound masking, and various networked devices.
  • Responding to client service calls that involve troubleshooting issues with advanced and complex AV systems.
  • Performing service tasks that include but are not limited to pulling cable, making terminations, and mounting displays and various AV hardware.
  • Providing training and support for client end-users and other service technicians as needed.
  • Reading and interpreting electronic schematics and architectural blueprints.
  • Installing and working with control systems and programs (Extron/Crestron/Q-SYS)
  • Performing preventative maintenance tasks to ensure proper functionality and long-term stability of AV systems.
  • Cleaning various AV equipment including but not limited to camera lenses, monitors and equipment fans.
  • Completing accurate job documentation as needed.

NBS is currently looking for an Architectural Designer. We are interested in finding the right, long-term team member who is self-directed, organized, process oriented, and has strong communication skills.

What Will You Be Doing?

This is a full-time on-site role for an Architectural Designer located in Troy, MI. The Architectural Designer will be involved through all phases of the project and be responsible for field measuring, as built documentation, proposing design concepts, and creating construction drawings and submission to building department municipalities for permitting. The designer will also collaborate and coordinate with internal divisions including interior/furniture designers, audio visual systems engineers, construction estimator, and project management teams.
Additionally, this role will be responsible for:

  • Designing and specifying architectural products: Steelcase Demountable Walls & Renson Pergolas
  • Overseeing software maintenance and drawing standards
  • Organizing and responding to RFI’s from sub-contractors
  • The reviewing, coordination, and approval of shop drawings & submittals
  • Filling out and gathering information required for permit submission and applications
  • Conducting jobsite walkthroughs with team members to answer site-related questions

What Will You Be Doing?

This person will have experience in technical troubleshooting and problem-solving audiovisual systems with strong customer service skills. They will perform proactive maintenance, resolve issues, and interact with end users to enable amazing experiences with workplace technology. They will work primarily at a designated client site with the potential for travel to the client’s other locations on a limited basis. Some of the primary job duties of this position include:

  • Performing preventative maintenance of AV equipment in conference rooms and testing equipment.
  • Troubleshooting issues with connectivity/cabling in conference rooms.
  • Supporting users as questions come in regarding equipment connection.
  • Providing technical phone support.
  • Monitoring a Help Ticket system and providing technical support for tickets placed.
  • Discussing with designated contact employee any corrective services that need to be performed, or any parts that need to be ordered to resolve an issue.
  • Performing troubleshooting steps on audiovisual equipment that is not functioning properly.

  • CTS (Certified Technical Specialist) preferred but not required.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in the audiovisual, technology, or other closely related industry.
  • Thorough knowledge of common audiovisual systems including basic setup and troubleshooting.
  • Confident expertise in Microsoft Teams including functions, features, and configuration for both the end-user Teams client and Teams Room systems.

OBJECTIVE
This position has the overall responsibility of installing, testing, and completing small to large-scale audiovisual systems while demonstrating the utmost professionalism and client satisfaction. This position is responsible for demonstrating audiovisual best practices regarding the installation, operation, control, testing, servicing, and troubleshooting of audiovisual systems.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Complete rack build-up, pull cable, and prepare equipment for installation.
  • Conduct installation of completed racks, projectors, monitors, and related sub-mounts.
  • Lead testing of system components to assure system completeness and convention.
  • Follow company-approved installation methods and techniques.
  • Ensure all work complies with company policies, procedures, standards, and conventions.
  • Ensure each system’s physical completeness is in accordance with installation drawings.
  • Maintain an ongoing dialog with AV Foreman and Project Manager, ensuring work quality, performance, and materials meet required schedules and expectations.
  • Maintain assigned equipment inventory and assigned tools.
  • Read and interpret audiovisual system drawings, schematics, and construction plans.
  • Document system and construction drawing changes and work with Design Engineers for completion of as-built drawings.
  • Cable management of all wires following industry standards while learning and sharing best practices.
  • Perform on-site rack fabrication when required.
  • Prepare systems for in-house job staging making all necessary connections, loading configuration files, etc.

What Will You Be Doing?

  • Loading furniture orders onto truck and delivering product to customers; completing furniture assembly/ installation as per installation specifications to meet customer expectation; inspecting furniture for proper operability according to manufacturer’s guidelines.
  • Installing all types of freestanding furniture and panel and modular systems; including placement, leveling, wipe-down, and touching-up of metal and wood furniture at customer location.
  • Completing all required furniture service/repair paperwork.
  • Removing all trash from jobsites and leaving them clean and wiped down.
  • Following all safety procedures in the performance of job duties.
  • Ensuring the overall cleanliness of the trucks and tools used by the department and being responsible for completion of annual DOT physical.
  • Interacting daily with customers, other team members, and warehouse management.

What Will You Be Doing?

This is a full-time position related to furniture design in the Healthcare, Education, Corporate and Emerging Business sectors. This position is part of the NBS Creative Solutions Team and is responsible for the creation of design solutions from inception to final layout. Creative thinking and daily collaboration with other Creative team members, clients, the NBS Sales team and other internal resources is required. The Designer role requires a selling mindset, strong organizational and communication skills, and the ability to thrive under pressure, all while creating and delivering impactful interior solutions. Exceptional presentation skills are imperative.

Additionally, this role will be responsible for:

  • Providing excellent client experience and strongly representing the NBS brand
  • Working with the A&D community, NBS team members and vendor partners to provide exceptional design solutions through an integrated approach, combining Architecture, Furniture and Technology
  • Maintain the efficiency and organization of project work.
  • Generate accurate working documents (interior design concepts, space plans, furniture plans, specifications, and installation documents, etc.)
  • Produce and present design concepts to clients.
  • Develop creative solutions that meet client needs and requirements while adhering to building code/ADA requirements relative to interior space planning.
  • Maintain and submit timely and accurate time sheets, weekly schedules.
  • Ability to obtain client approval on documents, drawings, and finish selections.
  • Participate in regular industry professional development, including completion of related CEU’s, certifications, etc.

Do You Have the Experience, Knowledge, and Abilities We’re Looking For?

  • BS/BA/BAA/BFA degree in Interior or Architectural Design. (CIDR ACCR.)
  • NCIDQ-completion preferred but not required.
  • A minimum of 3 years of industry experience, leading commercial interior design projects.
  • Must have proficiency in a variety of industry software-AutoCAD, CET Designer, Sketchup, Microsoft Office, Procore etc.
  • Must have knowledge of ADA and building codes related to Interior Design and furniture planning.
  • Requires extreme attention to detail and ability to work in a deadline driven industry.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to juggle multiple projects, while taking ownership for project deliverables
  • Exceptional customer service skills to manage internal and external clients.
