NBS is currently looking for an Architectural Designer. We are interested in finding the right, long-term team member who is self-directed, organized, process oriented, and has strong communication skills.

What Will You Be Doing?

This is a full-time on-site role for an Architectural Designer located in Troy, MI. The Architectural Designer will be involved through all phases of the project and be responsible for field measuring, as built documentation, proposing design concepts, and creating construction drawings and submission to building department municipalities for permitting. The designer will also collaborate and coordinate with internal divisions including interior/furniture designers, audio visual systems engineers, construction estimator, and project management teams.
Additionally, this role will be responsible for:

  • Designing and specifying architectural products: Steelcase Demountable Walls & Renson Pergolas
  • Overseeing software maintenance and drawing standards
  • Organizing and responding to RFI’s from sub-contractors
  • The reviewing, coordination, and approval of shop drawings & submittals
  • Filling out and gathering information required for permit submission and applications
  • Conducting jobsite walkthroughs with team members to answer site-related questions

Do You Have the Experience, Knowledge, and Abilities We’re Looking For?

  • Experience in architectural related work (3-5 years)
  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree in architecture or related field
  • Proficiency in design software and tools including Revit, Lumion, SketchUp, AutoCAD, Matterport, CET
  • Experience in commercial interiors or workplace design and renovation work a plus
  • Ability to pick up redlines and integrate into construction documents
  • Ability to take a concept and create working construction drawings and details
  • A strong understanding of building codes and regulations
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external clients
  • Ability to work with multidisciplinary teams, including designers, project managers, field superintendents, and estimators.
  • Strong visual communication skills required

NBS is currently looking for an Audiovisual On-Site Technical Analyst. We are interested in finding the right, long-term team member who is self-directed, organized, process oriented, and has strong communication skills.

What Will You Be Doing?

This person will have experience in technical troubleshooting and problem-solving audiovisual systems with strong customer service skills. They will perform proactive maintenance, resolve issues, and interact with end users to enable amazing experiences with workplace technology. They will work primarily at a designated client site with the potential for travel to the client’s other locations on a limited basis. Some of the primary job duties of this position include:

  • Performing preventative maintenance of AV equipment in conference rooms and testing equipment.
  • Troubleshooting issues with connectivity/cabling in conference rooms.
  • Supporting users as questions come in regarding equipment connection.
  • Providing technical phone support.
  • Monitoring a Help Ticket system and providing technical support for tickets placed.
  • Discussing with designated contact employee any corrective services that need to be performed, or any parts that need to be ordered to resolve an issue.
  • Performing troubleshooting steps on audiovisual equipment that is not functioning properly.
  • Ensuring room audiovisual systems are functional for scheduled meetings.
  • Supporting digital signage hardware applications.
  • Continuing to create and maintain a conference room asset database.
  • Continuing to improve Standard Work Instructions database, including floorplan and room routing diagrams.
  • Continuing to gather audiovisual information from outstate locations to add to database.
  • Providing training sessions to end users as needed on equipment functionality, and with meeting startup assistance.
  • Inventorying audiovisual and technical equipment.
  • Updating Barco, Extron, Crestron, and Bi-Amp equipment to the latest firmware versions as needed per the manufacturer’s suggestion to ensure reliable functionality.
  • Continuing with asset management tagging of audiovisual equipment, as necessary.
  • Maintaining an inventory of consumable items such as HDMI cables, USB cables, projector lamps, etc. as applicable.

Do You Have The Experience, Knowledge and Skills We’re Looking For?

  • CTS (Certified Technical Specialist) preferred but not required.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in the audiovisual, technology, or other closely related industry.
  • Thorough knowledge of common audiovisual systems including basic setup and troubleshooting.
  • Confident expertise in Microsoft Teams including functions, features, and configuration for both the end-user Teams client and Teams Room systems.
  • Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 Productivity Suite.
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to prioritize and delegate appropriately.
  • Excellent customer service skills and mindset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

OBJECTIVE
This position has the overall responsibility of installing, testing, and completing small to large-scale audiovisual systems while demonstrating the utmost professionalism and client satisfaction. This position is responsible for demonstrating audiovisual best practices regarding the installation, operation, control, testing, servicing, and troubleshooting of audiovisual systems.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Complete rack build-up, pull cable, and prepare equipment for installation.
  • Conduct installation of completed racks, projectors, monitors, and related sub-mounts.
  • Lead testing of system components to assure system completeness and convention.
  • Follow company-approved installation methods and techniques.
  • Ensure all work complies with company policies, procedures, standards, and conventions.
  • Ensure each system’s physical completeness is in accordance with installation drawings.
  • Maintain an ongoing dialog with AV Foreman and Project Manager, ensuring work quality, performance, and materials meet required schedules and expectations.
  • Maintain assigned equipment inventory and assigned tools.
  • Read and interpret audiovisual system drawings, schematics, and construction plans.
  • Document system and construction drawing changes and work with Design Engineers for completion of as-built drawings.
  • Cable management of all wires following industry standards while learning and sharing best practices.
  • Perform on-site rack fabrication when required.
  • Prepare systems for in-house job staging making all necessary connections, loading configuration files, etc.
  • Assist with cleaning the shop and all surrounding work areas.
  • Maintain and ensure the proper tools are always available to perform all job duties.
  • Provide daily field reporting to AV Foreman.
  • Travel to client sites and other NBS offices as required.
  • Complete other duties or special projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position requires physical effort and the use of motor skills requiring manual dexterity. While performing the duties of this job the team member is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, push/pull, or balance weight for extended periods of time. Team member must frequently lift, push, or pull boxes/merchandise weighing between 70 pounds and 100 pounds. With mechanical assistance, team member will occasionally move up to 300 pounds. NBS is currently looking for a full-time Carpet Cleaning Technician in our Troy office.

Reports to: Director, Commercial Cleaning Solutions

The safety of our team members is our #1 priority.  Therefore, we have implemented numerous safety protocols related to the COVID-19 pandemic; as recommended by national and local government, and health authorities.  These protocols include:

  • Field staff are equipped with face masks, gloves, hand sanitizer and wipes.
  • NBS vehicles are equipped with the necessary disinfecting supplies.
  • Our vehicles are decontaminated/fogged on a regular basis.
  • Team members are strongly encouraged to follow the CDC guidelines for preventing the spread of the virus.

Job Duties:

  • Primarily include carpet, fabric, upholstery, and floor cleaning along with various other services provided by NBS.
  • Work hours are typically Monday-Friday between 4:00 pm to 1:00 am.
  • Must be available to work at least two Saturdays a month.

  • Loading furniture orders onto truck and delivering product to customers; completing furniture assembly/ installation as per installation specifications to meet customer expectation; inspecting furniture for proper operability according to manufacturer’s guidelines.
  • Installing all types of freestanding furniture and panel and modular systems; including placement, leveling, wipe-down, and touching-up of metal and wood furniture at customer location.
  • Completing all required furniture service/repair paperwork.
  • Removing all trash from jobsites and leaving them clean and wiped down.
  • Following all safety procedures in the performance of job duties.
  • Ensuring the overall cleanliness of the trucks and tools used by the department and being responsible for completion of annual DOT physical.
