Hiring Project Manager

Audiovisual Project Manager – Troy, MI

NBS is currently looking for an Audiovisual Project Manager.  We are interested in finding the right, long-term team member who is self-directed, organized, process oriented, and has strong communication skills.

What Will You Be Doing?

This position has the overall responsibility of managing the budget, scope, and timeline of all audiovisual projects by planning, coordinating, organizing, monitoring, recording, and supervising projects and staff.  They must be the leader of multiple site projects and have the ability to communicate and engage team members.  Some of the primary job duties of this position include:

  • Creating and managing the project schedule.
  • Acquiring a thorough understanding of project requirements and objectives including, but not limited to: contractual, financial, technical, schedule, construction coordination, materials, personnel, and scope of work.
  • Facilitating internal project kick-off meetings that include key participants from sales, engineering, fabrication and installation.
  • Maintaining overall responsibility for, and supervision of, all personnel and activities on project site.
  • Coordinating all in house activities associated with project execution, including but not limited to: submittals, engineering, fabrication and installation, programming, commissioning, testing and troubleshooting.
  • Acting as the AV Division’s point of contact for internal and external project communication and documentation.
  • Coordinating activities with general contractor, construction manager, owner and other trades as required.
  • Providing regular reports of job progress to all parties associated with a project.
  • Assisting with, or facilitating, the ordering of materials upon approval of submittal documents or verification from engineering for design-build projects.
  • Scheduling personnel for installation with Operations Manager and/or strategic partners.
  • Generating and/or responding to construction communication including, but not limited to: requests for information, change order documents, delay or compression notification of theft/damage to materials, tools or vehicles, safety or injury reports, warranty information, material handoff or inventory, punch lists, field reports, sign-off documents or other documentation as assigned or required.
  • Proactively managing the change order process.
  • Regularly inspecting installation work performed by staff and/or subcontractors.
  • Coordinating and/or providing training to clients when required or appropriate. 

 

Do You Have The Experience, Knowledge and Skills We’re Looking For?

  • CAPM, PMP preferred but not required.
  • CTS (Certified Technical Specialist) preferred but not required.
  • 3-5 years of client-facing project management experience in the audiovisual, construction, technology or other closely related industry.
  • Strong computer skills, including a proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook), MS Project or similar project management software, and comfort learning new systems/applications.
  • Ability to read and comprehend project technical and contract documents including, but not limited to engineering and architectural drawings, schedules, test reports, or commissioning documents, bid drawings and specifications, contract, project scope, subcontractor scopes of work, and construction schedule.
  • Experience creating and maintaining construction schedules while managing labor hours and costs within a project environment.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills with the ability to supervise and manage tasks and personnel to meet project objectives.
  • Possess a fundamental understanding of AV system functionality and installation process and techniques.

Hiring AV Lead Technician

Audiovisual Lead Technician – Troy, MI

NBS is currently looking for an Audiovisual Lead Technician.  We are interested in finding the right, long-term team member who is self-directed, organized, process oriented, and has strong communication skills.

What Will You Be Doing?

This position has the overall responsibility of installing, testing, and completing small to large-scale audiovisual systems while demonstrating the utmost professionalism and client satisfaction.  Some of the primary job duties of this position include:

  • Completing rack build-up, pulling cable, and preparing equipment for installation.
  • Preparing systems for in-house job staging; making all necessary connections, loading configuration files, etc.
  • Conducting installation of completed racks, projectors, monitors and related sub mounts.
  • Leading testing of system components to assure system completeness and convention.
  • Ensuring each system’s physical completeness is in accordance with installation drawings.
  • Performing on-site rack fabrication when required.
  • Maintaining an on-going dialog with AV Foreman and Project Manager; ensuring work quality, performance, and materials meet required schedules and expectations.
  • Maintaining assigned equipment inventory and assigned tools.
  • Travelling to client sites and other NBS offices as required.

  • 2-5 years of technical audiovisual related experience.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Ability to read and interpret audiovisual system drawings, schematics, construction plans, maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to document system and construction drawing changes and work with design engineers for completion on as-builts drawings.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to effectively work individually or in a team environment.

Hiring Audiovisual Service Technician

Audiovisual Service Technician – Troy, MI

NBS is currently looking for an Audiovisual Service Technician.  We are interested in finding the right, long-term team member who is self-directed, organized, process oriented, and has strong communication skills.

What Will You Be Doing?

This position has the overall responsibility of providing our clients with on-site service support through preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs.  Some of the primary job duties of this position include:

  • Reading and interpreting electronic schematics and architectural blueprints.
  • Performing preventative maintenance to maintain a stable client-based system.
  • Cleaning various AV equipment including but not limited to camera lenses, monitors and equipment fans.
  • Completing accurate job documentation as needed.
  • Installing control programs (Extron/Crestron/Firmware) – upload and download capability.
  • Providing service support of networked devices (Routers, IP Protocols, etc.).
  • Performing service tasks that include but are not limited to pulling cable, installing connectors, mounting projectors, and hanging ceiling mounts.
  • Providing training and support for next level service technicians.
  • Providing end-user training as needed.
  • Setting up and troubleshooting various video codecs/video teleconferencing systems.
  • Cleaning the shop and all surrounding work areas.
  • Maintaining a clean and safe job site, including final clean-up.
  • Maintaining and ensuring the proper tools are available to perform all job duties.
  • Conducting basic problem solving and troubleshooting for issues that may arise during an installation or service call.
  • Providing daily field reporting to Lead Technician or AV Foreman.
  • Travelling to client sites and other NBS offices required.

 

Do You Have The Experience, Knowledge and Skills We’re Looking For?

  • Minimum of 1–3 years of audiovisual integration experience is preferred.
  • Formal education in electronics or a related field is preferred.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is preferred.
  • Experience safely using hand and power tools; including the ability to solder and crimp connectors.
  • Basic computer knowledge; preferably utilizing Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Knowledge of basic signal flow for audio, video, and control.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Must be self-motivated with strong attention to detail and exhibit positive can-do attitude.

NBS Hiring Entry Level AV Technician

Audiovisual Entry-Level Technician – Troy, MI

NBS is currently looking for an Audiovisual Entry-Level Technician.  We are interested in finding the right, long-term team member who is self-directed, organized, process oriented, and has strong communication skills.

What Will You Be Doing?

This position has the overall responsibility of assisting in field installations and in-house build-up of audiovisual racks prior to field installation.  This position offers the opportunity to learn audio visual best practices for operating, testing, troubleshooting, wiring, servicing, and maintaining audiovisual systems.   Some of the primary job duties of this position include:

  • Unpacking, documenting, and racking equipment; as well as preparing rack and accessories for shipping.
  • Interpreting audiovisual system drawings, schematics, and construction plans.
  • Performing on-site rack fabrication when required.
  • Preparing systems for in-house job staging making all necessary connections, loading configuration files, etc.
  • Cleaning the shop and all surrounding work areas.
  • Maintaining a clean and safe job site, including final clean-up.

NBS Carpet Cleaning Technician

Carpet Cleaning Technician – Troy, MI

NBS is currently looking for a full-time Carpet Cleaning Technician in our Troy office.

Reports to: Director, Commercial Cleaning Solutions

The safety of our team members is our #1 priority.  Therefore, we have implemented numerous safety protocols related to the COVID-19 pandemic; as recommended by national and local government, and health authorities.  These protocols include:

  • Field staff are equipped with face masks, gloves, hand sanitizer and wipes.
  • NBS vehicles are equipped with the necessary disinfecting supplies.
  • Our vehicles are decontaminated/fogged on a regular basis.
  • Team members are strongly encouraged to follow the CDC guidelines for preventing the spread of the virus.

Job Duties:

  • Primarily include carpet, fabric, upholstery, and floor cleaning along with various other services provided by NBS.
  • Work hours are typically Monday-Friday between 4:00 pm to 1:00 am.
  • Must be available to work at least two Saturdays a month.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • Experience driving lightweight trucks preferred.
  • No commercial cleaning experience necessary.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent customer service skills; ability to conduct client contact in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Ability to meet physical demands listed below.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

This position requires physical effort and use of motor skills requiring manual dexterity. While performing the duties of this job the team member is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, push/pull, or balance weight for extended periods of time.

This position requires driving in all types of weather. While performing the duties of this job, the team member regularly operates machinery. Using proper safety procedures will eliminate any potential hazards. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Office Furniture Installer – Troy, MI

NBS is currently looking for a full-time furniture installer at our Troy location.  We are interested in finding the right, long-term team member with mechanical ability and a great attitude.  Prior experience working with Steelcase furniture is preferred.

Requirements of the job include, but are not limited to:

  • Ability to lift and carry at least 100 lbs.;
  • Willingness to work overtime when needed;
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record;
  • Must be able to pass a drug test, background check and DOT exam.

We offer a full benefit package, including medical, dental, vision, a 401(k) plan and paid time off.  Uniforms, a yearly boot allowance and tool replacement are also part of the package.
