Audiovisual Account Executive

NBS is currently looking for a full-time Audiovisual Account Executive.

This position has the overall responsibility of generating sales for the Audiovisual team by identifying and developing prospective clients and maintaining effective relationships with existing clients.  This position is responsible for maintaining an overall flow of sales consistent with assigned objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Identify sales prospects and provide accurate forecasts and activity reports to management.
  • Analyze cross-selling and up-selling opportunities ensuring that all company products and services have been thoroughly presented and the sales cycle successfully executed.
  • Exhibit a consultative sales approach to determine a customer’s visual collaboration needs.
  • Develop price quotations and bid responses that are complete, accurate, and profitable.
  • Prepare contracts and pricing strategies for targets accounts and submit all required documentation.
  • Work with the installation team to ensure a smooth transition from sale to installation.
  • Responsible for developing and executing sales plans to expand existing client base and generate new business.
  • Attend and participate in weekly office sales meetings.
  • Establish professional relationships with manufacturer sales and sales engineering personnel.
  • Actively use internal databases to complete client contact information, provide detailed notes and track pending activities.
  • Represent company at technological briefings and trade shows as assigned.
  • Participate in training and professional development activities as prescribed by management.
  • Other duties assigned as needed.

  • Ability to understand, present and demonstrate visual collaboration products and services to end user clients
  • Ability to balance multiple tasks with changing priorities
  • Ability to work and think independently and ensure that deadlines are met
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive matters with discretion

Qualifications (Education, Experience and Certifications)

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
  • A four-year degree is preferred
  • At least 3-5 years experience of direct selling in the AV/VTC area is a preferred

Office Furniture Installer

NBS is currently looking for a full-time furniture installer at our Troy, Michigan location.  We are interested in finding the right, long-term team member with mechanical ability and a great attitude.  Prior experience working with Steelcase furniture is preferred.

Requirements of the job include, but are not limited to: 

  • Ability to lift and carry at least 100 lbs.;
  • Willingness to work overtime when needed;
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record;
  • Must be able to pass a drug test, background check and DOT exam.

We offer a full benefit package, including medical, dental, 401(k) plan and paid time off.  Uniforms, a yearly boot allowance and tool replacement are also part of the package.

Starting hourly rate of $14 – $17, depending on experience.

Interior Designer

NBS is currently looking for several full-time Interior Designers (FT=40 hours per week). We are seeking to fill multiple Design positions-including roles related to Interior Design & Construction, Architectural Products, Healthcare, Education, Corporate and Emerging Business.

These positions are a part of the NBS Creative Solutions Team and are responsible for the creation of design solutions from inception to final layout.  Creative thinking and daily collaboration with other Creative team members, clients, the NBS Sales team and other internal resources is required. The Designer role requires a selling mindset, strong organizational and communication skills and the ability to thrive under pressure, all while creating and delivering impactful interior solutions. Exceptional presentation skills are imperative. The ideal candidate(s) shall have a minimum of 5-10 years of industry experience, leading commercial interior design projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Providing excellent client experience and strongly representing the NBS brand
  • Working with the A+D community, NBS team members and vendor partners to provide exceptional design solutions through an integrated approach, combining Architecture, Furniture and Technology
  • Maintain the efficiency and organization of project work
  • Generate accurate working documents (interior design concepts, space plans, furniture plans, specifications and installation documents, etc.)
  • Produce and present design concepts to clients
  • Develop creative solutions that meet client needs and requirements while adhering to building code/ADA requirements relative to interior space planning.
  • Maintain and submit timely and accurate time sheets, weekly schedules
  • Ability to obtain client approval on documents, drawings and finish selections.
  • Participate in regular industry professional development; including completion of related CEU’s, certifications, etc.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • The ideal candidate must be able to lead the NBS Design Experience, providing oversight of the Creative Solutions team projects and details associated with applications relating to Architectural Products, Furniture and Technology/AV
  • Must have advanced proficiency in a variety of industry software-AutoCAD, CET Designer, 20/20 CAP, Sketchup, Microsoft Office, Procore etc.
  • Must have knowledge of ADA and building codes related to Interior Design and furniture planning
  • Requires extreme attention to detail and ability to work in a deadline driven industry
  • Strong time management skills and ability to juggle multiple projects, while taking ownership for project deliverables
  • Exceptional customer service skills to manage internal and external clients

Qualifications (Education, Experience and Certifications)

  • BS/BA/BAA/BFA degree in Interior or Architectural Design.  (CIDR ACCR.)
  • NCIDQ-completion preferred
  • LEED-Green or AP-completion preferred

New Business Account Associate

NBS is currently looking for a full-time New Business Account Associate in our Toledo, Ohio location.

This representative will need strong strategic planning skills and be able to deliver on tactical execution as an integral part of the company’s strategic sales team. Additionally, this role will be responsible for:

  • Providing excellent client experience.
  • Strongly representing the NBS brand.
  • Identifying prospects and potential clients through referrals, networking, associations, business journals, web sites, etc.
  • Achieving success through consultative selling and building strong relationships.
  • Researching and investigating all prospects’ product, industry, structure, and potential as future clients to qualify the lead and develop an effective pre-call strategy and sales plan.
  • Executing a pre-call strategy and establishing rapport or follow-up with prospects; scheduling consultative meetings and presentations to obtain future business.
  • Developing, administering and adjusting content of sales presentations in accordance with prepared sales plan.
  • Developing a budget, creating pricing proposal, determining profit margin, and aligning internal resources for execution of sale. Outlining product specifications, client pricing, delivery and installation timeframes, as well as the team’s and company’s capabilities by identifying the client’s needs, budgets and timeframes.
  • Maintaining an accurate database within the CRM.
  • Maintaining professional and technical knowledge by attending company and vendor sponsored educational and product workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; and participating in professional societies.
  • Contributing to team effort by supporting related goals.
  • Obtaining new product orders by servicing existing accounts through continuous needs analysis and follow-up.
  • Performing special projects as assigned.
  • Working within a defined market segment and market territory.

The New Business Account Associate should be a self-starter with a strong network of relationships with major companies in the Toledo and/or Ann Arbor markets. This candidate must be excited by challenging themselves in developing new business plans within corporations in the market. Some requirements for the role are:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Three+ years in successful sales experience preferred.
  • Proven track record of delivering sales results, servicing and prospecting in midsize to large companies.
  • Strong business acumen, professional presence, excellent interpersonal skills and critical/creative problem-solving skills.
  • Previous experience in the office furniture, design, real estate, or distribution dealership business is a plus.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
