We believe that physical space plays a pivotal role in how students learn, grow, and work together. That’s why we created the NBS Launchpad – a cutting-edge, fully immersive Experience Center, designed to showcase thoughtfully curated K-12 and higher education environments.
The ambitious project came to life through the collaboration of all our NBS in-house divisions. From space planning to the meticulous selection of furnishings, architectural products, and floorcovering to technology integration, construction, installation, and cleaning solutions, our team worked side by side to execute every aspect with precision.
Despite a tight timeline, our team’s ability to work efficiently and in tandem with our trusted vendor partners allowed us to transform our previously underutilized office space into a must-visit destination for anyone passionate about the future of education. We also leveraged our expertise in managing projects within occupied spaces, allowing business to go on as usual.
This fun and engaging environment features a dynamic blend of flexible furnishings, stylish acoustical products, interactive technology, vibrant color palettes, and unique materials. Launchpad visitors can not only explore and test out individual products, but they can also immerse themselves in a range of carefully crafted education settings to get the full experience.
The active learning classroom has a variety of mobile seating and desks, designed to support a range of postures and learning styles, as well as technology and markerboards to keep students engaged. Our makerspace consists of durable work surfaces, custom millwork with appliance and storage components, and a mobile cart display for content sharing. A sensory space for lower elementary features playful patterns, biophilic elements, and privacy screens to create an environment that is both stimulating and calming. The Launchpad also displays a private faculty office, energizing café, collaborative esports zone, and quiet, in-between areas – all thoughtfully designed to meet the diverse needs of students and educators.
For years, NBS has been a leader in designing impactful education spaces, and the Launchpad is a testament to our commitment and expertise in this industry. Every inch of the Launchpad tells a story of innovation, demonstrating how intentional design sparks creativity and inspires fresh ideas for transforming learning spaces.
