Ohana Wealth Advisory helps families and individuals achieve financial security and meet their retirement goals. When it was time to update their office, they wanted a modern, open space that would enhance their brand and meet their needs now and in the future. The project opportunity was brought to NBS through their relationship with Krieger Klatt Architects. Ohana valued that NBS could provide all the solutions needed in-house, from interior buildout and painting to floorcoverings, furnishings, finishes, and technology.
“Ohana” means family in Hawaiian, and the company prides itself on their family-like work culture and welcoming atmosphere. Coming from a smaller office, Ohana wanted space that would support their future needs and provide a more functional layout, including comfortable areas for private meetings. The workspaces also needed to feature up-to-date technology and ergonomic furnishings to create a productive and collaborative work environment.
NBS was able to offer an integrated, one-stop solution for Ohana that streamlined communication, project management and project execution. Ohana appreciated having a single company to work with to bring their space vision to life, from construction to final finishes. NBS Pre-Construction Services provided the client with the look, cost and timeline for completion. The entire project took around seven months, finishing on time and within a budget the client was comfortable with.
The new lobby area welcomes visitors and sets the tone for the whole office with comfortable seating, soothing colors, and a striking light fixture. Removing a wall and replacing another with glass created a more open atmosphere that invites people to sit and relax while waiting for a meeting. Throughout the offices, cool blues and greys, natural wood tones, and soft florals evoke the Hawaiian culture that inspired their name.
The redesigned space features three open workstations, one large private office, two small private offices, a large conference room and a small coworking space for private meetings. The open workstations and meeting rooms support a hybrid work culture in which most employees spend part of their time working remotely or meeting elsewhere with clients. Sound masking was installed throughout the space to enhance privacy and comfort. NBS provided new technology solutions as well, including a whole-office audio system and a ClickShare wireless presentation system.
The redesigned space is more comfortable, versatile and functional and makes the most of the 3,000 square feet they had available. It better meets the needs of both clients and employees and will support their future growth as the business expands. It’s an office that embodies the spirit of Ohana and fosters connection among staff and clients alike.
