Accessing healthcare in Upper Sandusky has never been easier, thanks to a new combined urgent care and pharmacy location opened by Wyandot Memorial Hospital. NBS worked with The Collaborative to create a space that is bright, welcoming, comfortable and functional.
The urgent care and pharmacy are located next to a grocery store and fitness center for convenient one-stop access to a variety of health and wellness resources. Patients can get a prescription at the urgent care and then walk across the waiting room to the pharmacy to get it filled.
Wyandot aimed for an overall look that was both refined and comfortable, prioritizing healthcare-grade furnishings and finishes. In the waiting areas and patient rooms, the furniture needed to strike a balance between comfort, easy maintenance and durability.
The new state-of-the-art facility creates an inviting ambiance with light-toned woods and soft pastel colors. The addition of mixed materials, like wood slats on the walls, brings texture and interest to the space. Cool blues and greys are complemented by rose and yellow highlights to craft a welcoming atmosphere. In the waiting areas, patients have a variety of comfortable seating options, whether they prefer to relax on a lounge piece or pull a chair up to a table with a laptop. Round ottomans add a pop of fun color and can double as side tables or additional seating.
The space is also designed to meet the needs of doctors, nurses, physician assistants and staff. Steelcase Reply stools offer the perfect combination of comfort and mobility for clinicians in patient rooms, while ergonomic Steelcase Amia chairs provide all day support in the busy nurse’s station.
The resulting space meets healthcare standards while exuding a warm, inviting atmosphere, far from sterile. The new facility allows Wyandot Memorial to better serve their community with a range of healthcare services, including wellness screenings, vaccinations, urgent care and pharmacy. The interiors created by The Collaborative and NBS support their overall mission of innovation, convenience and excellence in patient care.
