NBS Unleashes Fur + Furniture 2020 Calendar

A round of appaws for the star pets making our calendar + supporting the community

The love and enthusiasm people have for their pets never ceases to amaze us! For the second time, NBS launched a casting call among metro Detroit Real Estate and Architectural & Design firms looking for photogenic pets to take part in our Fur + Furniture Calendar. From firm visits, to ice cream truck stops, we promoted our calendar contest and received over 70 photo submissions! Our three judges from Pet-A-Pet Club, Inc. had the difficult task of selecting the top 26 pets, who got the chance to be professionally photographed by Purple Tree Photography in our Troy showroom.

The two-day photoshoot brought our participants, their pets and our vendor partners together to capture each furry (or feathery!) face with beautiful products. Our vendor sponsors selected furniture, textiles or floorcovering to create the unique settings for each calendar month. These beautiful vignettes were the perfect backgrounds for our pet models.

Our judges once again had the tough job of choosing the lucky 13 pets out of those photographed to be featured in our printed calendar. To “unleash” the selected pets, we hosted a calendar reveal party on November 13^th in our Troy showroom. The night included delicious food, drinks and a charity raffle benefitting Pet-A-Pet Club of Detroit. NBS matched all raffle ticket sales and in addition to calendar sales, we raised over $2,400 for this amazing organization providing pet therapy to hospitals, nursing homes and convalescent centers in the metro Detroit area.

We had a blast putting on this event, connecting with our Real Estate and A&D friends, their pets, families and friends. Thank you to everyone who gave their time and shared their pets with us!
