NBS Ownership Transition Based on Continuity, Not Change

Earlier this year, NBS completed the final phase of our succession plan journey that began back in 2017. This marks a significant milestone as we have transitioned the business from Rich Schwabauer to our four other current shareholders, Heather Lanier, President; Lori Powe, Chief Client Officer; Kris Gula, Chief Financial Officer, and Scott Telder, VP Sales. This transition represents a seamless progression in the evolution of our organization, reinforcing our dedication to growth, stability, and continued success.

“I wanted my retirement from NBS to be built on continuity, not change, for our NBS team members. These shareholders have worked very hard with me over the years to effectively lead NBS. Heather, Lori, Kris and Scott have a solid vision to lead NBS successfully into the future,” said Rich Schwabauer, former President. 

The new ownership team is excited to grow our in-house offerings of construction, architectural products, floorcovering, furniture, technology, and commercial cleaning across all our locations in Southeast Michigan and Northwest Ohio. Our integrated approach provides a unique value to our clients, and the team is committed to investing in products and services that serve our clients now and into the future.

This transition also means that NBS is now a majority women-owned business. We are working towards earning Women Business Enterprise (WBE) certification in the months ahead and are excited to share more updates and details as we continue this journey.
