NBS ranks #8 on Crain’s Detroit Cool Places To Work 2018 List!

Striving to create a safe, engaging and productive place to work is top of mind for many organizations. But what about a “cool” place to work? From wellbeing initiatives, social events and benefit perks, organizations are seeing the value of creating workplace environments where people want to come to work, connect and find purpose.

To find out how “cool” our team perceives NBS, we asked our Michigan-based team members to participate in Crain’s Detroit Business Cool Places to Work in Michigan survey earlier this spring, which asks a variety of questions about our benefits, culture and workplace. This is the sixth year Crain’s has produced this list, highlighting companies that, according to their employees, go above and beyond in putting a focus on workplace culture. A third-party firm assesses the ratings and comments, compare against all applicants, and then determine the top 100. The designation is earned based on a comparison of overall employee benefits (25%) along with an assessment of the feedback team members provide (75%). Visit Crain’s to learn more about the process and how companies get recognized.

We are proud to share that based on our team member’s rankings and comments, NBS placed overall No. 8 out of 100 and for companies our size, we placed No. 2 out of 44! Being on the list is an honor in and of itself, however, we are extremely humbled that we moved up in our ranking over 2017 from #17 to #8 overall!  A variety of businesses, large and small, across industries are among the cool places to work. Check out the full list of recipients.

Chief Operating Officer Heather Lanier shared her appreciation with our team, “We aspire to high ideals, working to uphold our core values and the Disney Keys. Each day we have the opportunity to create a unique client experience, internally and externally.” Crain’s published an interview with NBS President Rich Schwabauer and COO Heather Lanier. They spoke about NBS’s investment in team members, living the Disney principles and creating inspiring work environments not only for our external clients, but our internal ones as well.
