Year Two: Active Learning Center Grants

After a wildly successful first year, Steelcase Education is pleased to launch year two of its Active Learning Center Grant program. As 12 schools enjoy the benefits of their newly installed active learning classrooms, it’s time to open the opportunity to others who are ready to use their physical classroom space to advance learning in new and important ways.

The program offers furniture, integrated technology, design and installation, plus all of the innovation and inspiration born of active learning. New this season is the addition of the Thread power system – a revolutionary product that provides power to the devices we use and the places where we work and learn.

Eligible applicants include educators and administrators interested in advancing their active learning pedagogy through the physical space. Classrooms are for students in grades 6 – 12 or within a college, university or media center, and must be located in the United States (including U.S. territories) or Canada.

Grant recipients can expect to receive:

  • Steelcase Education branded tools to help disseminate information about their award and the Active Learning Center experience
  • Signage for the classroom designating it as a Steelcase Education Active Learning Center
  • Installation of an active learning classroom (agreed-upon furniture and technology products)
  • Training for Active Learning Center educators in the use of active learning classroom furniture and technology
  • Steelcase Education public relations activity about the Active Learning Center Grant and 2015 recipients
  • Steelcase Education sponsorship and facilitation of a community of practice among grant recipients

Learn about the program and get started on your proposal at Steelcase.com/ActiveLearningCenter. Applications will be accepted beginning December 1, 2015.
